

Theewaterskloof Dam is a man-made earth-fill type dam located on the Sonderend River near Villiersdorp. It was established in 1978 and forms a major component of the Western Cape Water Supply System and is considered one of the major civil engineering feats of the 80’s. The dam provides water for municipal, industrial and irrigation purposes and is used extensively for a wide range of water sports.
