Stony Point Nature Reserve in Betty’s Bay is home to one of the largest breeding colonies of African Penguin in the world.
A boardwalk meanders through the Penguin colony allowing you to watch the penguins going about their daily activities in their natural habitat without disrupting them. You’ll also see cormorants, gulls and Dassies.
The penguin colony is on the site of the old Waaygat Whaling Station which was operational until the mid 1900’s. See if you can spot some of the defunct machinery and equipment from the whaling station at the site.
Refreshments and food are available from a little community restaurant adjacent to the Stony Point Nature Reserve.
