The Caledon museum is housed in a Victorian house that is filled with items reflecting the heritage of the people of Caledon.
In Grabouw there is the Elgin Apple Museum that documents the history of the apple and pear industry that is the core of livelihood in the area.
The Genadendal Mission Museum Complex documents the activities of the first Moravian mission station in South Africa. The station was founded in Bavianskloof by the Moravian Church in 1738. Bavianskloof was later named Genadendal - the Valley of Grace.
Kleinmond has an interesting collection of toys in its Toy Museum.
The Old Harbour Museum in Hermanus has several exhibitions that document the history of fishing and whaling in the area, it also houses a sonar buoy which transmits whale sounds.The De Wet's Huis Photo Museum was originally a Sunday school house situated near the Dutch Reformed Church. the building was systematically dismantled and re-erected at its present site - stone by stone. The museum houses photographs that document the history of Hermanus.
In Riviersonderend the Riviersonderend Photo Museum also has a collection of photos telling the story of the town.
The Drostdy Museum in Swellendam is an open air complex consisting of several buildings. The oldest are The Drostdy and Old Gaol dating back to 1747. The Drostdy house a magnificent collection of Cape furniture; at the Ambagswerf you can see tools of old trades, the Mayville is a Victorian house complete with a traditional Victorian rose garden and the Zandrift, originally farm buildings, is now a popular restaurant.
