The Caledon Wild Flower Show has been held annually, except during drought and war, by the Caledon Wild Flower Society since 1892.

The Society was started by exporters who were exporting 'Sewejaartjies' in an effort to increase awareness of indigenous plants.

Today the Caledon Wild Flower Society is still going strong and has 60 members.

The society promotes conservation through cultivation.
